Recently, the Union HRD Ministry had instructed Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) schools to teach Sanskrit instead of German as was the practice before.
Echoing the PMK's stand on this issue, MDMK chief Vaiko condemned the Union HRD Ministry's move as a bid to "Sanskritse," education.
He alleged that after the BJP took office it had been engaged in "imposition" of Hindi.
"Ever since it took office, the BJP has been giving more importance to imposition of Hindi and is implementing a Sanskritisation plan," he said.
In continuation of such a plan, now Kendriya Vidyalalya schools have been asked to switch over to Sanskrit, Vaiko said, adding, "I condemn this and urge the Centre to restore teaching German in the place of Sanskrit.
