Announcing this, Rajesh B Lund, President, local chapter of CREDAI, told PTI that cement, which was sold for Rs 280 last month, was selling at Rs 395 per bag now, an increase of Rs 115 and expected to go up further.
Stating that associations will decide on their future course of action, after the procession tomorrow, he said it was proposed to observe a fast and also stop construction activities, if prices were not coming down in another 10 days.
Besides CREDAI and BAI, Indian Institute of Architect, Associaion of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Coimbatore Civil Engineers Association, Coimbatore Builders and Contractors Association, Association of Licensed Building Surveyors, Institution of Valuers Association, Coimbatore Corporation Contractors Welfare Association, Paver Block Association and Consumer Voice, are taking part in the agitation.
