BJP MLA from Rishikesh, Prem Chandra Agrawal, filed his nomination today for the post of Speaker of Uttarakhand Assembly.
Proposals in favour of Agrawal's nomination have been submitted in 16 sets by BJP MLAs, state assembly secretary Jagdish Chandra said.
With no one else filing nomination for the post of Speaker, Agrawal's unopposed election to the position is a foregone conclusion.
However, the announcement about his election will be made by pro-tem Speaker Harbans Kapoor in the State Assembly tomorrow, Chandra said.
Agrawal has won from the Rishikesh seat for a third time.
