AIADMK flays Cong govt for not cutting taxes on petrol, diesel

Opposition AIADMK Tuesday charged the V Narayanasamy-headed Congress government with'failure' to deliver on promises and announcements made on the floor of the Assembly in the last budget session.

Addressing presspersons here, the leader of the legislature wing of the AIADMK A Anbalagan claimed though more than 200 schemes were announced during the last budget session, nothing had been done so far for implementation.

He also criticised the ruling Congress for its recent bandh on fuel prices when it could have reduced the VAT or sales tax on the petroleum products to provide relief to the people.
