A flexboard greeting AIADMK Lok Sabha candidate Maragatham Kumaravel for her "huge victory" in the April 24 Lok Sabha polls created a flutter in the city, following which it was removed and four persons were arrested today, officials said.
Though counting day is May 16 and the Model Code of Conduct is still in force, the flexboard hailed the AIADMK candidate's victory "by a margin of 1.68 lakh votes" and also thanked the voters.
Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar told PTI that it was an offence to put up such a banner and added that action has already been taken.
The flexboard outlet that produced the banner has been sealed.
