"We refer to the recent Indian Amateur Boxing Federation elections and AGM that took place on September 23, 2012. We received a letter from Meghalaya Amateur Boxing Association regarding an official complaint submitted to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on September 25, 2012 alleging irregularities in the process, manner and procedure in election of IABF Executive Committee members," the AIBA said in a letter to the IOA General Secretary.

"We note from the complaint that an IOA Observer was present throughout the election and AGM (Mr KS Sidhu) and we would be very interested to hear his response to this complaint," the letter, written by AIBA External Relations Director Patricia Steulet, said.

In the IABF elections held on September 23, former president Abhay Singh Chautala, who is contesting for the top post of the IOA in the November 25 elections, was nominated as chairman while his brother-in-law and BJP Rajasthan MLA, Ashok Matoria was elected the President.

Besides a report of the election and AGM from the IOA observer, the world boxing body also sought the list of nominations for president and his executive committee, agenda of the AGM, list of delegates, a copy of the most recent IABF statutes (in English language), a copy of the Annual Report dated April 21, 2012 referred to in the complaint letter and a copy of the Financial Statement.
