Air Force cycle expedition team in Nagpur

Exercise MILAN an Indian Air Force Cycling expedition combining the spirit of both adventure and the 'Swachh Bharat campaign' along with the 'Go Green' idea made a halt here before proceeding for its onward journey to New Delhi.
Exercise Milan comprising four teams, cycling from four extreme corners of India will culminate at New Delhi around the Air Force Day on October 8.
Team North from Karakoram (Daulat Beg Oldie), Team East from Shillong (Meghalaya), Team South from Tiruvananthapuram (Kerala) and Team West from Naliya (Gujarat), all commenced their expedition early this month. Each team consists of 20 members along with supporting crew to enable enroute assistance.
Braving inclement weather, inhospitable terrain, great distances and insurmountable odds, the four teams are covering around 2600 kms each before concluding the expedition at India Gate, New Delhi.
Team South led by Wing Commander NSK Singh reached the city after covering a distance of 1700 Kms.
They cycled through Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and will now be passing through Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh before culminating the expedition in the national capital.
The team was received in the city by by Air Vice Marshal S C Chafekar, Senior Air and Administrative Staff Officer, Headquarters Maintenance Command at Vayu Sena Nagar here.
Air Marshal Pankaj Aneja , Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, flagged off the expedition yesterday for their next halt en route to New Delhi, a release from Defence PRO said here today.
