"We have recorded a growth 35 per cent on account of customer base in Jharkhand," Arvind Singh Shekhawat, Regional Manager (Central), of Aircel told reporters here.
As part of the network expansion exercise, he said Aircel has significantly enhanced capacity in all its sites across the city and added 54 sites that would redefine the 3G data usage experience with a maximum speed of upto 7.2 Mbps.
He added that Jamshedpur contributed 43 per cent revenue from data usage compared with 22 per cent by central region of Aircel comprising Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
The smartphone penetration in Jamshedpur was around 50 per cent because of high literacy rate and the people are data savvy here, which was reason behind the company recording such a high growth, he claimed.
