Responding to a question on reported hesitation on part of some ruling party MPs in adopting a second village under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pet scheme, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said several lawmakers have made an "honest effort" to uplift the village they have adopted.
"There is a process that first the works decided in the first village are completed, then the other one will be adopted. It is a natural process which could take time. But certainly all will go for that (adopt another village)," he said.
Prime Minister Modi has already adopted Nagepur village. Earlier, he had adopted Jayapur.
