: AkshayaPatra Foundation and CLP India Monday announced the inauguration of a new centralised kitchen in Nawabpet area of Mahabubnagar district of Telangana.

The new kitchen would serve freshly cooked, hot mid-day meals to over 26,000 children of schools at Ammapur, Muthyalampalle, Varna, Perur, and adjoining areas, a press release said here.

CLP India funded the design and construction of the kitchen, whereas AkshayaPatra Foundation is responsible for the day-to-day operations and supply of meals to the schools and anganwadis, the release said.

In addition to sponsoring the renovation and construction of the kitchen, CLP India has committed funds for three years to feed children as a part of the mid-day meal programme, it said.

The kitchen was inaugurated by district education officer N Rajesh in the presence of CLP India managing director Rajiv Mishra and AkshayaPatra (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) regional president Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji.

CLP India is owned by CLP Group, one of the largest investor-owned power businesses in Asia, and CDPQ, one of Canada's leading institutional fund managers, the release added.
