The 34-year-old star has replaced Rosario Dawson, who dropped out of the movie for an unknown reason, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"New Mutants" previously tapped Maisie Williams to play Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie or Cannonball and Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar.
Josh Boone is directing the movie, which he is additionally writing along with Knate Lee.
The movie is set to hit the US theatres on April 13 next year.
