Drawing inspiration from a painting by artist Chloe Early, the track was recorded by five years ago when the 33-year-old singer was working on her "The Element of Freedom" album, reported Aceshowbiz.
"I had never been overcome to write a song after seeing a painting before, but this one sent me to another place," Keys wrote on her website.
The R&B star said she was inspired to write the song to express the kind of love she felt after seeing the painting.
The lyrics of the song describe the singer's desire to fly and run away: "Everywhere I wanna fly, everywhere I wanna run away/ Have you ever closed your eyes in a vision and it took you away/ Wonder why in my dreams the sky is so blue."
The song made a debut on the 'Fallin' singer's website AKVault, which was launched last year.
