This is one of seven such centres in Southern Railway.
The centre would provide a place for women passengers to seek travel related assistance and would be staffed around the clock by women rom the Commercial and Railway Protection Force departments of the division, a release said.
The counter provides assistance needed by women passengers and in addition also provides help in lodging complaints with the Government, Railway police, access to prepaid auto service, an official release said.
More such centres are being planed to be provided in all the major stations of Salem Division in the near future, it said.
