Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has asked the chief secretary to take "appropriate action" on the financial irregularities allegations in the previous SAD-BJP government as levelled by Navjot Singh Sidhu.
He has marked the letter written by Sidhu to the chief secretary for "appropriate action", official sources said.
In the letter, Sidhu, the cabinet minister in Amarinder Singh government, is learnt to have raised alleged financial irregularities taken place during the previous Parkash Singh Badal led government in the state, they said.
Notably, Sidhu had accused Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal of spending a huge amount of money on travelling in helicopters, and advertisements.
Sidhu had released the details of money procured through an RTI by Daljit Singh Gilzian, son of Congress MLA Sangat Singh Gilzian.
Last week, Sidhu had said he respects decisions taken by Amarinder Singh, but that did not mean he had "put a lid" on his mouth.
The cricketer-turned-politician had also said he was answerable to the people who did not vote for "us" to become "deaf and dumb".
