American sitcom 'Mad About You' to get Chinese remake

'Mad About You', the Golden Globe-winning famous sitcom of 1990s starring Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser, is getting a remake for Chinese audience.
Sony Pictures Television has signed a deal with China's HuaCheng Pictures for the adaptation of the comedy series, reported Hollywood Reporter.
"We have chosen to co-produce a local version of 'Mad About You' in China because we believe this story about a young couple trying to balance their lives in the big city will be especially relevant to local audiences," said Dai Huang, executive director, sales, international distribution and acting executive director, international production, Asia for Sony Pictures Television.

The casting details of the series are yet to be finalised but the production will begin early next year.
The studio recently produced an adaptation of 'Breaking Bad' for Spanish-speaking audiences across Latin-America.
