Aminul parents seek to meet President

The parents of a youth, who had immolated himself alleging that the police were trying to hush up a rape case and were harassing him because he helped the victim, today sought the help of the Congress to meet President Pranab Mukherjee.
Unhappy over the progress of investigation, the parents of Aminul Islam, who had immolated himself last year before the Karaya police station, have made the request, WBPCC president Pradip Bhattacharjee, who went to meet them on Eid today, said.
The 22-year-old youth had immolated himself on December three last year and he died on January one this year.

His mother Sahana Izaz has moved the Calcutta High Court seeking a CBI investigation and the circumstances leading to it, claiming that the police would be biased as the allegations were against them.
