Targeting Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi over a businessman's son's murder, BJP president Amit Shah today said both the "princes" should speak about "lawlessness" in the state and promised to rid it of criminals if his party is voted to power.
Alleging that Congress has looted the country, while Samajwadi Party the state, he said the "two princes" now wanted to loot UP together but people will not accept their alliance.
Shah launched sharp attack on SP in a public meeting after he called off his scheduled foot march following the killing and observed a minute silence.
"Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, these two princes should speak in their press conference about this merciless killing. There is lawlessness in the state. They should speak about it... You answer to them by voting for lotus (BJP's symbol) and we will rid the state of crime and goondaism," he said.
While BJP wants the state to become number one in employment, it has become the leading state in unemployment and incidents of rape, he claimed.
"I urge you not to fall for the false promises of either Samajwadi Party or Congress or BSP. Only BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can do it," he said.
Targeting the government over the murder, he said an innocent youth was killed and bullets were fired in market but it made no difference to the Chief Minister.
Wooing farmers, Shah said his party has promised to write off loans of small farmers and give them interest-free loans. Within 120 days of the formation of BJP government, pending dues of sugarcane farmers will be paid, he said, adding it will work to make the state number one in job creation.
