Schumer was originally attached to star in the Sony movie but she dropped out of the project in March over "scheduling conflicts".
Now in an Instagram post, the 36-year-old comedienne gave her best wishes to Hathaway, who is currently in negotiations to come on board the movie.
"Hathaway smathaway jkjk she's perfect!! Can't wait to see it," she wrote.
Director Alethea Jones is in talks to direct the film, which is currently aiming June 29, 2018, release date.
