Andhra Pradesh: Mentally ill girl raped by father

A 17-year-old mentally- challenged girl here got pregnant after she was allegedly raped repeatedly by her father in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.
The incident which took place in Ambajipeta Mandal of Amalapuram division, came to light today after the 17-year-old victim, studying in ninth grade, complained of excessive vomiting and was taken to a doctor where she was diagnosed to be pregnant, they said.
According to Amalapuram S I Vijayakumar, the girl was staying in her maternal aunt's house for a long time as her father is a carpenter and her mother was in Gulf. She came back home to her father, C Venkateswar Rao, only two months back.

When the girl began vomiting today neighbours took her to the Government Hospital for examination where, after her medical reports, she alleged that she was raped several times by her father, police said.
Later, when the information was passed on to her mother in Gulf, she advised them to lodge a complaint.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is on. No arrests have been made so far.
