The incident which took place in Ambajipeta Mandal of Amalapuram division, came to light today after the 17-year-old victim, studying in ninth grade, complained of excessive vomiting and was taken to a doctor where she was diagnosed to be pregnant, they said.
According to Amalapuram S I Vijayakumar, the girl was staying in her maternal aunt's house for a long time as her father is a carpenter and her mother was in Gulf. She came back home to her father, C Venkateswar Rao, only two months back.
Later, when the information was passed on to her mother in Gulf, she advised them to lodge a complaint.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is on. No arrests have been made so far.
