"A middle-aged woman dengue patient from Jajpur district died while undergoing treatment," said the Hospital emergency officer B N Moharana informing that the casualty has increased to seven this year.
Out of some 111 dengue patients currently undergoing treatment here, a substantial number of them are from Kalinga Nagar area of the neighbouring district. Hospital sources said six of these patients are in ICU and condition of one is stated to be critical.
Despite tall claims made by the plant authorities, the viral disease is spreading like wild fire in the locality without a break.
Sources said till date more than 300 people from the Kalinga Nagar locality have already been afflicted with dengue in this season.
