30-year-old Bhabesh Ray of Hashpukuar village allegedly consumed pesticide last night. He was rushed to the local hospital which referred him to Malda Medical College Hospital, police said.
Ray died at the Malda Medical College Hospital today, the hospital authorities said.
Ray's family claimed that he had taken a loan of Rs 30,000 from a local money lender to cultivate potato and corn in his field.
