Anti-CAA violence: SIT files charge sheet against 38 in UP's Muzaffarnagar

An Special Investigation Team probing the violence that broke out during a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) here last year filed a charge sheet against 38 people in a court on Thursday.

The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ravi Kant Yadav ordered the accused to appear before it on March 31.

Of the 38 accused, 17 have got bail.

According to the prosecution, the accused were arrested for their alleged involvement in the violence during an anti-CAA protest here on December 20 last year. One person was killed and several police personnel were injured in the violence.
