Anti-party activities will not be tolerated: JKPCC chief

The Congress today warned its functionaries against indulging in anti-party activities and said only "dedicated and loyal" candidates will be chosen for party tickets.
"Those found indulging in anti-party activities would not be spared and only candidates with their loyalty and dedication towards the party and its ideology would be chosen for the party tickets", JKPCC chief G A Mir said.
Mir asked the party cadres to gear up for the forthcoming elections to the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state.
While reviewing the preparation for the ongoing process for the conduct of elections to Municipal Corporation Jammu, UBLs, Mir discussed the measures to further gear up the organizational activities in the state.
"A coordinated effort is needed to expose the misdeeds of the BJP before the public and also organize the grassroots worker to give inputs with regard the selection of best candidates of the party," Mir said.
He said Congress hasthe credit of establishing the panchayat raj system throughout the country and it was the result of great struggle and efforts of the party that the73rdand 74th amendments were incorporatedin thestate laws to further empower the panchayats and ULBs.
Mir said that the PDP-BJP coalition government in its ten-month rule has made panchayats "defunct and non-functional" and their rights were usurped by the ruling legislators and ministers in the state.
