Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday met state Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan here andbriefed him about the just ended Budget session of the legislature and discussed a host of issues.
Sources in the Chief Ministers Office said Jagan briefed the Governor about the various landmark Bills passed by the legislature, including the bill for reserving 75 per cent of jobs to locals in industries.
The job bill has generated a lot of adverse reaction from different quarters, including the industry. The assembly session ended on Tuesday.
This was the first formal meeting between the Governor and the Chief Minister after the former was sworn-in as the Head of the State on July 24.
In the hour-long meeting Jagan also explained about 'Navaratnalu', his governments flagship welfare programmes, and other initiatives such as 'Spandana', the weekly grievance redressal programme in government offices across the state.
The judicial preview legislation that is intended to ensure transparency in tendering process for government contracts through an oversight by a retired judge was also explained to the Governor, the sources added.
The Chief Minister informed the Governor about his governments initiatives to root out corruption at all levels.
Jagan also informed Harichandan about his upcoming personal visits to Jerusalem and the US next month, the sources added.
The Chief Minister presented an wooden idol of Lord Sri Venkateswara to the Governor on the occasion.
Earlier in the day, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan called on the Governor at the temporary Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada.
A party release said it was a courtesy call.
Party Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar, politburo member Konidela Nagendra Babu and other leaders accompanied Kalyan.
