: The Andhra Pradesh government, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, is organising a day-long 'Diplomatic Outreach' programme in Vijayawada on Friday when Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would pitch for investments into the state.

Ambassadors and Consul Generals of at least 35 countries are expected to attend the event, where Jagan would have one-on-one interaction with a select few of them.

The programme, not an investors summit, was planned to outline the governments commitment to 'zero corruption' and thereby attract investors from different countries.

As he has vowed a 'corruption-free' governance, Jagan is expected to offer 'no corruption' agreements to prospective investors, highly-placed sources in the Chief Ministers Office said.

Taking a cue from a similar agreement the previous Chandrababu Naidu regime had signed with Kia Motors, the Y S Jaganmohan Reddy government is set to tread the same path to build confidence among investors.

"A precedent has already been set when the previous government signed a no-corruption agreement with Kia Motors for setting up its car manufacturing plant in the state. We will only be following it," a top official in the CMO said.

A press release from the Chief Ministers Office, meanwhile, said the government would dwell upon the potential areas and priority sectors that were open for FDI and outline its policies and governance model.

The diplomats would be explained the scope of investments in infrastructure development, pharmaceuticals, agro products, skill development, technology transfer, healthcare, backward area development projects and other sectors, the release said.
