AP electricity contract workers to go indefinite stir tonight

Andhra Pradesh's electricity contract labourers announced on Monday that they would to go on an indefinite strike from midnight demanding regularisation of their services.
The Joint Action Committee of contract employees working in power companies like APGenco and APTransco, besides electricity distribution companies like APSPDCL and APEPDCL held a public meeting here on Monday and decided their course of action, according to a statement issued here today.
Their primary demand is to regularise contract about 15,000 contract employees who have been working in the power sector since 18 years.
They also demanded that the system of employing contract employees in the power sector must be scrapped.
