Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Jasti Venkata Ramudu, while speaking to reporters said here that stern action would be taken against red sanders smugglers and the police would not let them go scot-free under any circumstances.
The DGP was responding to queries of reporters in the wake of recent incidents of of red sanders smugglers in Chittoor district attacking police personnel.
With Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister designate N Chandrababu Naidu all set to take oath of the office, Ramudu said that elaborate arrangements were underway to provide security for the event.
The AP police chief said that measures would be taken to reduce mental stress among police personnel.
"District-level review meetings would be held to identify gaps and shortcomings. Necessary amendments would be made. Vacant posts would also be filled up," he said.
