AR seizes contraband items worth Rs 1.26 crore

The Assam Rifles (AR) today apprehended a drug peddler at Khudengthabi checkpost in Tengnoupal district and seized contraband items worth Rs 1.20 crore from his possession, an Assam Rifles statement said.
The apprehended peddler has been identified as 40-year-old Ngamkholen Haokip.
Soldiers of Assam Rifles based at the same checkpost had seized illegal drugs worth Rs 93.10 lakh from one Paokhongam Haokip yesterday.
Haokip hailed from the Indo Myanmar border town of Moreh.
