Ardh Kumbh Mela: Holy dip for 'Dev Dolis' on Apr 21, 22

The traditional holy dip for carts of the deities - Dev Dolis - during the ongoing Ardh Kumbh Mela would take place on April 21 in Rishikesh and April 22 Haridwar.
A procession of the carts and the symbols of the local culture will be taken out and the holy dip would be performed on the 'Dev Dolis', according to a government release here.
Speaking at a congregation at his official residence Chief Minister Harish Rawat said the state will showcase its magnificent culture during the holy dip.
The Chief Minister asked the officials concerned to prepare annual calender for the 'Dev Dolis' and also publish literature highlighting its significance.
Rawat also said the state government will offer all help during the holy dip but asked the Organising Committee to prepare themselves well.
The four-month-long mela began on January 1 with an average of a lakh people taking dip in the Ganga everyday.
