Ariel Winter on a break from social media

"Modern Family" star Ariel Winter has taken a sabbatical from social media as she "needs a moment to breathe", her representative said.

The development came after the 20-year-old actor had gone on a Twitter rant early this week about the relentless invasion of privacy by the paparazzi, according to People magazine.

"Ariel has taken a break from Twitter and engaging with commenters on her other platforms because of the constant negativity she experiences.

"She needs a moment to breathe and enjoy herself without judgement," Winter's rep said in a statement.

While her Twitter account cannot be found when searched, the actor's Instagram page is active; her last post being from Fourth of July celebrations.

Winter has been vocal about living under the constant scrutiny from fans and the paparazzi. She has also written several posts slamming body-shaming trolls.
