A local money lender was allegedly robbed of Rs one crore by two armed youths at north Delhi's Sarai Rohilla area here today.
The complainant, Sachin Bansal, told the police that the incident took place around 2.15 PM when he was heading towards his residence after collecting money from his clients at Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, said a senior police official.
When he reached an intersection at Sarai Rohilla, not far from his home, two bike-borne youths, who were wearing helmets, waylaid him and snatched away his bag, which contained Rs 1 crore cash, by pointing a gun at him, said the official.
He called up the police and reported the matter. The police have obtained CCTV footage from nearby premises and are trying to figure out the registration number of the motorbike, to identify the robbers at the earliest, the official added.
