Acting on a tip-off, police raided the suspected house used as arms depot in Tora Warai area of Doaba tehsil in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Kurram and Orakzai tribal agencies, District Police Chief Anwar Saeed Kundi told reporters.
A huge quantity of explosives materials, arms, ammunition have been confiscated and six militants identified as Gul Faraz, Muhammad Nawaz, Abdur Rauf, Muhammad Jasim, Muhammad Ishaque and Nosherwan were arrested.
The police chief said that the house was being used as an arms depot from where weapons were provided for terrorist acts in other parts of the country.
Suspects arrested in the raids today were planning to conduct a major act of terrorism in Hangu district, he said.
Conceding that anti-social elements were hounding in and around tehsil Doaba, he said an operation has been launched against them in the district.
