Arms-supplying gang member arrested

A member of an arms-supplying gang has been arrested for possessing a pistol, as part of drive by police here to check gun-running ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
Accused Yakoob was arrested in Miranpur town yesterday. Apart from the pistol, 20 cartridges were also found from his possession, police said.
He accused said he also sold a pistol each for around Rs 26,000 to three persons -- Mohit, Gayanender and Nitu, police said, adding that they were searching for the three to recover the arms from them.
