Army helps LoC schools, provides furniture, books

After school furniture and books of students were washed away in recent flash floods in border district of Poonch, Army has extended help to educational institutions so that students can resume their studies.
An Army unit deployed near Poonch town extended support to the state government in alleviating the hardships of teachers and students in the remote rural areas, a defence spokesman said here today.
The Army unit provided benches, almirahs and book shelves to Government High School, Degwar and Government Primary School, Noorkote.
The unit under Poonch Brigade also distributed prescribed books to students, he said.
