Army jawan commits suicide in Jalandhar

A 32-year-old Army cook allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his quarters here, police said today.
Lakhwinder, a cook in Dogra regiment in Jalandhar cantonment, allegedly committed suicide yesterday, they said.
On the basis of a complaint filed by his father, police registered a case against Colonel A S Salakhiya for whom Lakhwinder worked, they said, adding that the reason of his suicide is still not confirmed.
According to the father, Colonel used to abuse and torture his son, they said.
The body has been sent for postmortem and no arrest has been made so far, they said.
