Army vehicle kills 12-year-old girl; locals protest

A 12-year-old girl was today killed after being allegedly hit by an army vehicle in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, sparking off protests by local residents, police said.
Farhat Manzoor died on the spot as she was hit by the vehicle in an army convoy at Kralgund in Kupwara in the evening, police said.
The police said local residents staged protest against the incident and demanded legal action against the erring army driver.
