Artiste fraternity come forward for 'Standing with Nepal'

In a gesture of solidarity with the quake-hit people of Nepal, eminent personalities of Bengal have come forward to support them by announcing a fund-raising concert aimed at helping in rebuilding tourism structures and adopting historic place of Bhaktapur.
Percussionist Tanmoy Bose, film director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and singer-politician Indranil Sen have chipped in together to organise 'Standing With Nepal' concert to raise funds.
The concert will witness performances from 14 different regions of the country and represent an eclectic mix of music.
Singers Kavita Krishnamurthy, Akriti Kakkar and Indranil santoor artiste Shiv Kumar Sarma, classical singers Pt Ajay Chakroborty and Ustad Rashid Khan and Violin Brothers and many others would participate.

Doctor Sabyasachi Sen, director of a private super speciality hospital, said the initiative was taken after his visit to Nepal.
He had discussed with his three school friends Tanmoy. Aniruddha and Indranil.

"We wish to proceed in a two-pronged way. First we would like to hand over proceeds of the concert to Nepal Tourism. Secondly we would like to adopt historic Bhaktapur by arranging education and basic amenities for its children," Tanmoy said.
"We are in consultation with the Nepal consulate to thrash out the modalities so that succour can reach the affected people at the earliest," he added.
"I am keen to participate in the concert. Kolkata has again shown the way nationally," Kavita said when contacted.
