The Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to conduct review and inspection of all schemes being implemented under NEC, NLCPR (non-lapsable central pool of resources) as well as state and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
The review and inspection would be done by ministers and a detail report would be submitted to the government on each scheme, government spokesman Bamang Felix said here today.
The state cabinet has decided to act firmly on any lapses found in implementation of these schemes.
The cabinet meeting headed by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in its sitting yesterday took serious exception to the allegations levelled by BJP MLAs of embezzlement of Rs 900 crore under NEC and NLCPR in the state.
Funds for all NEC and NLCPR projects were released only after documentary and physical inspections, the cabinet opined.
Acting on the decision, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has already started reviewing the status of schemes and projects pertaining to his departments today and met officials of the PHE and Water Supply and Hydro Power and RWD departments.
He directed the officials to immediately submit a report on the status of projects, Felix said adding, the Chief Minister would be monitoring the schemes through spot inspections too.
