"This is a historic judgement and Assam should also implement it immediately along with the rest of the states in the country," Sabha General Secretary Parmananda Rajbongshi said in a statement here today.
The judgement is very important in the prevailing scenario and its implementation would go a long way in strengthening the educational system of the state, which is plagued by several ills, he said.
The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday had taken serious note of the pathetic condition of primary schools in the state.
The Court had issued directions to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary to ensure that children/wards of government officials/servants, those serving in the local bodies, representatives of people and judiciary, etc. Send their wards to these schools as only then they would be serious enough to look into the requirements of these schools and ensure they were run in good condition.
