The order is for 500 fully-built commercial vehicles equipped with Ashok Leyland's iEGR (Intelligent Exhaust Gas Recirculation) technology that has been indigenously developed to achieve the BS-IV emission norms, the company said in a statement.
Ashok Leyland President-Global Trucks Anuj Kathuria said the company has partnered Rivigo since the beginning of their journey.
"Today, our BS-IV iEGR vehicles are giving up to 10 per cent better fuel economy when compared to our BS-III range. This is helping all our customers to improve their total cost of operations by up to 15%, translating to improved profits," he said.
"Our journey with Ashok Leyland began in 2014..Just like our idea of disruption in logistics, we see iEGR as a technology disruption which has a huge upside," he said.
