police was today shot dead and two others were injured in indiscriminate firing by a mentally challenged person in Pooranpur area here.
ASI Subhash Chandra Yadav (45) was shot dead by Rajendra when he resisted stone pelting on a police vehicle near a marriage hall around 4 AM, police said.
Two employees of the marriage hall -- Ravi and Tarachand -- were injured in the firing and admitted to a hospital, police said.
The accused has been arrested and the matter is being probed, they said.
