Yadav served as a probationary DYSP in the district police, a release said today.
Yadav, born in Mumbai, had a keen interest in wrestling from his young age and he took his professional training from the Sports Academy of India, New Delhi.
Yadav's father Pancham Yadav has a dairy business, the release said.
"Yadav bagged gold in 2010 commonwealth games in Delhi. He was appointed as DYSP by the state government in recognition of his achievements as a sportsperson. He completed his training in 2013 from the Maharashtra Police Academy and joined the Thane district rural police as DYSP in July 2014," it said.
