Sonowal, in a telephonic conversation with Naidu, wished him the best for a remarkable and eventful tenure as Vice-President of the country and chairman of Rajya Sabha.
"The high victory margin by Naiduji shows that he got votes from the Opposition as well and it shows his wider acceptability," an official release quoting Sonowal said.
"After a busy and long political innings spanning several decades, Naiduji is going to occupy one of the top constitutional posts in the country," he said.
