Assam Guv greets teachers on eve of Teachers' Day

Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit today greeted teachers and urged people to bow as a mark of respect and gratitude to the selfless services rendered by them.
"Teachers are the edifice on which the entire society hinges and the future of a nation is intrinsically associated with the teachers. On this day, I offer my heartfelt gratitude to the unique and unparallelled role of the teachers," the Governor said in a statement here on the eve of Teachers' Day.
On this occasion the society should bow as a mark of respect and gratitude to the selfless services of the teachers, he said.

"Celebrations of Teachers' Day commemorating the birth anniversary of the great philosopher, scholar and guide Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is a fitting acknowledgement to the immense contribution of our teachers," he said.
The very fulcrum of the society moves and the human civilisation takes a stride because of the role of the teachers, the Governor added.
