Assault case: Dist administration holds inquiry into incident

The district administration today conducted an inquiry by into the incident of six minor Dalit boys of a panchayat school here being booked for allegedly assaulting and outraging the modesty of six of their schoolmates belonging to an upper caste.
District Collector Veeraraghava Rao accompanied by education department officials held the inquiry.
The officials said the Collector held inquiry with the students and parents. He also stressed on the need for the children to continue their education.
The incident took place on Friday night near the school campus under M Kallupatti police limits when the victims were returning home, police said.

The boys allegedly smeared cattle dung on the six, four girls and two boys, and attacked them with lethal weapons, injuring them, besides outraging the modesty of the girls.
