The deceased is identified as Rama Natham, an Assistant Sub-Inspector attached to Kalva Srirampur village.
However, the trigger behind the extreme step is not known immediately.
"Natham killed himself by hanging from ceiling at his residence at around 5 PM," Sultanabad Circle Inspector Tula Srinivas Rao said.
He said Natham belonged to Dommada village under Mangapet mandal in Warangal district.
Natham had resumed duty recently after getting treatment for paralysis.
He is survived by wife, three sons and a daughter, police said.
