Investigation into a daring theft at a house in Perumbavoor near here last week is centred around one Abdul Halim, an associate of an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Thadiyantavide Nazeer.
Some men including Halim have been booked in connection with the theft of valuables including 60 sovereigns of gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees at the residence of Siddique Abdul Rahman posing as vigilance personnel, police said.
Police had yesterday said that they suspect role of some extremist elements in the robbery in which a gang posing as vigilance and anti-corruption bureau officials had conducted a "search" at Siddique's house and decamped with goods including gold jewels.
The eight-member gang robbedSiddique's house when he had gone for prayers at a mosque in their neighbourhood on August 19.
A police official part of the probe team, said the arrests would be made soon in the case. They, however, refused to divulge more details.
Halim was arrested in connection with the extremism-related case in Kerala including in 2006 Kozhikode twin blast case and the 2005 Kalamassery bus burning case.
Thadiyantevida Nazeer, suspected kingpin of Islamic terrorist activities in south India, was arrested in 2009 and he is currently in jail in connection with various terror-related cases.
