A case of attempt to murder has been lodged against a former MLA and husband of a state minister and three others for allegedly threatening a local YSR Congress leader in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, police said.
Following direction from a local court to investigate a private complaint lodged by Ravinder Reddy, police yesterday registered the case against DK Bharatsimha Reddy, husband of Minister for Information and Public Relations DK Aruna, and three others.
According to the complainant, Bharatsimha Reddy and others went to the house of Khaganatha Reddy, Ravinder's father, on October 20 with sickles and allegedly used filthy language and threatened him.
Following the court directives, the Kodandapur police registered a case under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 448 (house-trespass). Further probe is underway.
