Malaysian lubes maker Petronas Lubricants today launched a special lube for bikes that can resist engine stress to prolong the engine life and improve riding quality.

Petronas Sprinta, the new lube is the Malaysian company's flagship range of motorcycle lubricants, the company said in a statement.

Launching the lubes, group chief executive Giuseppe D'Arrigo said, bike stress is often caused by high shear conditions that results from severe mechanical stress and high temperature inside the engine, leading to sluggish performance and this lube can help reduce this a lot as it offers up to 41 per cent higher oil film strength than the industry benchmark.

"Petronas Sprinta is formulated with strong oil film that enhances oil stability to address the diverging effects of bike stress. Ultimately, the aim is to address the very issues that bike owners face to provide better riding experience and longer bike life," D'Arrigo said.

This higher oil film cover alone helps the engine to endure the effects of load, speed and engine stress without breaking down, while allowing the bike to respond better. It did not offer the price of the new lube. Montblanc appoints A B de Villiers as brand ambassador
