Auditor Vijay Dattatreya Sawant, working in Nashik's special audit office, was arrested last night when he was receiving the sum for dropping the transaction of a big amount from the complainant and his wife's accounts to avoid a criminal case against them, a ACB release said today.
Sawant had demanded Rs two lakh from the duo of Shri Ganesh Co-operative Credit Society at Pimpalgaon after the audit revealed that the wife had made transactions in the entity's accounts.
Following this, the complainant informed ACB, which arrested Sawant.
